Honey and Spice review
Honey & Spice was the perfect romance novel to close out my summer with. My jaw literally hurts from smiling so much and I am utterly charmed by Bolu Babalola’s witty and hilarious writing. The only thing that could make this book better? The absolutely fantastic narration by Weruche Opia.
I highly, highly recommend picking up the audio for this one. The narrator is so adorably sassy and endearing and she adds her own spice to the storytelling that really elevates things.
To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of reading college romance these days. The thing about Honey & Spice is that I had to actually remind myself that these kids were in college because they’re so mature and self aware. The romance was definitely swoon-worthy, but the friendships really steal the show. I love the foundation that Kiki and Malakai built their relationship on but I also love Kiki and her girls, especially Aminah (the real MVP!).
